Phnom Penh Entry Requirements

Cambodia e-Arrival

It is compulsory to submit an e-Arrival Card within seven days prior to your arrival if you are entering Cambodia by air at Phnom Penh, Siem Reap or Sihanoukville International Airports.

There is no charge for this and the e-Arrival Card will replace the paper forms used for immigration, health and customs declarations. The e-Arrival Card can be accessed at www.arrival.gov.kh or through the Cambodia e-Arrival app, available on the App Store and Play Store for mobile devices.

Cambodia eVisa

All travellers are required to present a valid visa together with the E-Arrival Card upon entry into Cambodia.

Visa Exemption:
Delegates holding passports from the following countries are exempted from visa requirements for short stays in Cambodia:
Laos, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Vietnam, Thailand, Indonesia, Brunei Darussalam, and Myanmar.

For delegates from countries not stated above, you will need to apply for Visa from the following ways:

1. Recommended Option: E-Visa Application

Applicants are strongly encouraged to obtain an E-Visa, which may be completed through the official website or the eVisa Cambodia mobile application.

  • The E-Visa is valid for a single entry and permits a stay of up to one month. It remains valid for three months from the date of issuance.

  • The visa fee is approximately USD 30, and processing is typically completed within three (3) business days.

  • Requirements:

    • A passport with a minimum validity of six months from the intended date of entry

    • A recent passport-size photograph in digital format (JPEG or PNG)

    • A valid credit card (Visa or MasterCard) for online payment

    • Further information of your trip (e.g flight and hotel details)

2. Application via the Embassy of Cambodia

Applicants may alternatively apply for a visa through the Embassy of Cambodia in their country of residence.

  • The visa application form may be downloaded from the official website of the respective Cambodian Embassy.

  • The following documents are to be submitted in person at the embassy:

    • Completed visa application form

    • Recent passport-size photograph

    • Passport with at least six months of validity

    • Air tickets as proof of travel and return

    • Additional documents required for business or specialised visa categories, where applicable (e.g. invitation letter).

  • Payment for the visa must be made at the time of application.

  • Applicants are advised to consult the official website of the Cambodian Embassy in their country for the most accurate and updated information on requirements and fees.


3. Visa on Arrival

Visitors may also obtain a visa upon arrival at designated Cambodian international airports.

    • The following items should be prepared prior to arrival:

      • Recent passport-size photograph

      • Passport with a minimum validity of six months

      • Payment for visa fee

      • Completion of the E-Arrival Card via www.arrival.gov.kh or through the Cambodia E-Arrival mobile application

Please note: Submission of the e-Arrival Card is still mandatory and must be completed within 7 days before your arrival to ensure a smooth entry process.

Getting to Phnom Penh

Newly opened Techo International Airport has a comprehensive and well-developed transportation network. Travelers can easily commute between the airport and the city center in around 40 minutes at a reasonable fare, using airport taxis, buses, tuk-tuks, or hotel shuttle services.

Runs between Techo International Airport and various key stops in Phnom Penh

TAXI & RIDE-HAILING

Taxis are readily available at the designated pick-up area outside the Arrivals Hall. Fares are metered, and it is advisable to confirm the estimated cost with the driver before the journey. Airport taxis offer a direct and comfortable way to reach your destination.

  • Airport taxis available at fixed rates (around USD 15-20)
  • Ride-hailing apps (Grab, PassApp, WeGo) usually cheaper (USD 10-15)

TUK-TUK & RIDE-HAILING

A popular and affordable transport option in Cambodia, tuk-tuks are available outside the airport. They provide a more flexible and scenic ride to the city, with fares typically negotiable based on distance and time.

  • Available outside the terminal (negotiable fairs usually USD 7-10)

PRIVATE CAR AND LIMOUSINE SERVICE

Passengers looking for a more private and comfortable transfer can book personal limousines, minivans, or group transport through service providers located in the Arrivals Hall.
